With studios in Belagavi and Pune, Thirdspace Architecture Studio has built a practice that refuses easy categorisation. Founded by Praveen Bavadekar and now led alongside Namrata Betigiri, the studio moves effortlessly between museums, educational institutions, workplaces and homes. Yet every project from Thirdspace begins from the same place: context. In this conversation with SCALE, the architects speak about working between India's many realities, the importance of adaptive reuse, designing without binaries and why architecture is ultimately about asking better questions.
